March Update

I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. (1 Corinthians 3:6-8)

Our theme this month at Catalyst Ministries is GROWTH. As a gardener, I love this time of year for starting to plan what I’ll be planting and cultivating in the coming months. Living in Texas has given me the added bonus of a longer growing season. Recently on a visit to a local plant nursery, I noticed the protective shelters around the outdoor plants. Apparently, the expectation is that it can still freeze until mid-March, thus the extra protections for these young plants.

At Catalyst Ministries, we put a type of protective shelter around the women that we help on their way to restoration. We know they are vulnerable to harm, and for the time they’re with us at Catalyst Farms, we give extra care to help them heal so they can grow and thrive. After they graduate from the Catalyst Farms program, we continue to support them in many ways.

In looking at Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 3, it’s clear that he knows that his ministry involves partnering with Apollos and with God. We know too at Catalyst Ministries that we partner with each other and with God in ministry. Just as a seed has to be planted for a plant to grow, and then watered, we plant seeds at Catalyst Ministries. We plant seeds and water them and then we ask God to bring the growth, something He alone can do. We do our part, in what He’s called us to and we trust Him knowing He will be faithful to do His part. What an AWESOME partnership. God gives growth!

A recent example of this planting and watering took place this week at our Catalyst office. Several of our faithful workers met to pray with and encourage a recent Catalyst Farms graduate. As they gathered around her to show love and support, she shared how much her heart was overflowing with gratitude, as a result. Seeds that had been planted over past months and during her time in the program at Catalyst Farms, were being watered. And we believe God was giving growth in her heart and life.

I’m so thankful to be part of a team that plants seeds and waters, as together we see God bring the growth! Some of us plant the seeds and some water them, but God is the one who brings the growth. We are overwhelmed with joy that we get to see this again and again!

Recently we held our first ever Be A Catalyst Dinner in Texas and saw so many seeds planted as many came together to hear about the work of Catalyst Ministries and what God is doing through this ministry. It was a joy filled night and we look forward to watering these planted seeds, and seeing God bring growth! What an honor that we are all called to be involved and play a part in the growth and transformation that God wants to bring!

We’re excited to see growth in our teams as we see Chris Kinzie become our interim Program Director; Abby Larsen transition to Director of Communications and Community Engagement, and Beth Tomko join us as Area Director of Operations and Survivor Outreach. All these changes represent growth to us and we’re delighted to see God at work!

Thank you for your important part in the work and growth of Catalyst Ministries!
Serving and Growing with YOU!
