March 2024 Update with Julie Ryan

Our theme at Catalyst Ministries this month is HOPE! Romans 15:13 is our prayer for you as we kick off this wonderful season of Springtime and Hope: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Isn’t it amazing to think that the God who made all of us and the earth is a God of hope? He wants to fill us to overflowing with joy and peace. This happens as we trust in him, and by the power of his spirit - the Holy Spirit! We have this hope that is at the center of our work at Catalyst Ministries. It’s a lasting hope that residents and others can see and take hold of. The precious ones we have the honor of working with get to see that their hearts can be filled with hope and peace, often  for the first time in their lives.  As we also celebrate Easter this month, we’re reminded that we serve a risen savior, one who is alive! Because he lives, all who put their trust in him, also will receive eternal life with him.  “Where O death, is your victory?  Where O death, is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). This week we say goodbye to a dear friend and faithful volunteer, Hope Brannon, who passed from this life on February 25th, 2024. Her obituary is below. It’s interesting that our theme this month is HOPE, and we know that Hope carried the joy and peace of Christ within her heart as she served with us for many years as a Volunteer Coordinator, Bloomerang specialist, Office Manager and much more. We can’t say enough about Hope’s servant heart, work ethic and devotion to her Lord, Jesus Christ.  We’ll miss you dear Hope, and we praise God for your life and the eternal hope of heaven for you!  Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."  We also welcome new team members this month and are delighted to share in this work with them. Hope Brannon 1954 - 2024 Hope Noreen Brannon, 69 of Normal, passed away Sunday February 25, 2024, at OSF St. Frances Medical Center in Peoria. There will be a funeral service for Hope at 2 PM Thursday March 7, 2024, at Funks Grove Church in McLean, IL. Pastor Jason Collins will officiate. There will be a visitation for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Funks Grove Cemetery. Hope was born in Oak Park, IL on September 26, 1954, to Clarence and Sophie Kiszkan Campbell. She married Paul Brannon on May 6, 2001. He preceded her in death in 2010. She is survived by her sister Joy Wagner of Springfield, her adopted sister Peggy Moore of Normal, her nephew Richard (Carole) Wagner of Springfield, great nieces and nephews, Dan (Alyssia) Walsh, Sarah (Ian) Rogers, Skyla Wagner, and Robyn Wagner, and great-great nieces and nephews, Jack Walsh, Adalie Walsh, Parker Rogers, and Aubree Rogers. Hope worked forty-three years for State Farm Insurance Company, retiring in 2016 as an infrastructure analyst. She was well respected for her wonderful customer service and attention to detail. She virtually attended Vale Church in Bloomington. After her retirement she became an energetic and passionate volunteer and advocate, spending many hours on the computer for Catalyst Ministries devoting herself to their mission.
