16-18 Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are—face-to-face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We’re free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (Message version)
This month our theme at Catalyst Ministries is FREEDOM. What does it mean to you to be free? Here are a few definitions of the word freedom:
The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance.
The state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.
As I reflect on Tiffany* and her experience being a part of the Catalyst Ministries community over the past months, I believe she is tasting freedom in a unique and new way. She has shared what it means to live in a safe and beautiful place, where she doesn’t have to fear physical harm. It’s liberating! She has an inviting and comfortable place to sleep, plenty of nourishing food to eat, and people around her who are committed to her growth and healing.
Because of this, she has the space and opportunity to heal and to consider a new, hopeful future. She has begun to trust in God more and to see, as the verse above states, that he is a living and personal presence. She feels his love through those who are supporting her and through his work and provision in her life. What a joy to get to observe this miracle in Tiffany and to see her testify of these transformations in her life!
Thank you for being a vital part of the miraculous transformation of Tiffany and others! Your prayers, generous donations, and ongoing support all mean so much! Know that you are making a difference as you partner with us and help to see those like Tiffany become “brighter and more beautiful as God enters (their) lives and they become more like him”. (2 Corinthians 3:18).
For freedom!
Julie
