“Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them. You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them.” (Psalm 10:17-18)
Our theme at Catalyst Ministries this month is LOVE. In our work at Catalyst Ministries, we sometimes get to see miracles happen. One of those miracles is witnessing a woman go from being terrified by the violence and trauma she’s experienced to feeling comforted, peaceful, and secure. This is an amazing privilege for our team to witness! It can even show in the countenance of the residents we serve. A calm and beautiful smile can replace the fear that was there when she first moved into Catalyst Farms or Catalyst Ranch. This transformation takes time, but it’s possible, and we’ve seen it firsthand!
We believe that the comfort and healing the women we serve experience can be attributed to many things, and here are just a few:
- Their own hard work and effort to grow and heal
- Trauma therapy
- Our team’s approach of walking with the women, praying for them, and giving them confidence that they can succeed

A safe and peaceful housing environment, where they have ample space and security as they heal
- The prayers of many
- The generous giving of many who help enable the essential services that make their restoration possible
- Medical care
- The community approach we use in our long-term restoration homes
- Much more!
However, the biggest “catalyst” in the lives of the women we serve is our good God, who sees their hopes, hears their cries, and brings justice to them, resulting in a whole new life. His LOVE is that of a perfect Father towards them. As they see and sense this through the program steps and those who surround them with LOVE, they feel safe in opening their hearts to God.
Sometimes the women we serve have the characteristics and experiences of being orphans, as their own parents and home life were not safe or caring. Their experiences of abuse and being trafficked continued a life of oppression for them. The Lord sees and knows all this and reaches out to them with His Father Heart of LOVE.
